Software you operate vs intelligence that operates

Third in the Ontology Series. The ontology is the product. The ontology is capital. Here is why it isn't software.

Most "AI" sold to industry is SaaS with a chat box bolted on. You still operate it.

A tool waits for you to operate it. A world model operates.

SaaS is software you operate. DWS is intelligence that operates on a governed World Model.

The test

A vendor calls a chat box a "world model"? Three questions. Does it fuse live signal? Does it close the loop? Is it governed and sovereign? Three no's and you are buying software. That is fine — as long as you are not paying world-model prices for it.

Nobody runs a plant for forty years and then lets a stranger rebuild it. So you don't ask. You leave one small, harmless tool that quietly does something the old team never could — and by the time that matters, the governed world model behind it is a moat no competitor can copy.

One honest caveat: Perception is the class still being proven. A world model compounds in deployment — that proof is in progress, not finished.
